Starting a food truck

Jason is a dedicated foodie, for as long as I can remember, he has always been on the lookout for new and exciting culinary experiences. He truly has a passion for cooking and making sure things taste good. During the summers in Ohio, you will typically find us hosting Sunday dinners for our friends and family. I think this is sort of one of the reasons why we recently found ourselves drawn to the vibrant and diverse food truck scene. The allure of creating delicious street food sounded both interesting and fulfilling to us.

The Vegas Pizza Expo: A Culinary Journey

We currently specialize in shaved ice. But our food truck journey actually started with pizza. We explored many food options of what we might start to serve or eventually serve in our food truck. We stumbled upon the Pizza Expo in Las Vegas this past spring. The Las Vegas Pizza Expo is a renowned event that brings together food vendors from near and far to showcase their mouthwatering creations. The prospect of indulging in gourmet pizza while exploring the local scene was enough to both ignite our taste buds and fuel our anticipation even more.

Upon arriving in Vegas, we were surrounded by a kaleidoscope of sights and smells. All around us were bright flashing lights in a city that truly never sleeps. We landed on the colorful strip in sin city with casinos as far as you could possibly see. We met some really fun people, and we sampled so many pizza variations. At the Expo, there were vendors from all over, even from Italy. They shared product knowledge from ingredients to cookware to point of sale. We started learning a lot about what all it would cost us to enter into this adventure.

Exploring Nevada

There's just something cool that happens when you travel. You get to experience new landscape, meet new people, taste different food and see different viewpoints. I think the importance of that was passed on to us by Jason's parents, Mike and Jeannette. World travelers! They have been everywhere! I want Mike to write a book or start a YouTube about all of his travels. They placed a significant importance on travel and taking vacations. Because of that, we've also tried to do that with our kids.

So, outside of the Pizza Expo days we took in all that we could of the local area. We explored the strip, gambled at the casinos and sampled brews in the Arts District. We drove winding roads in the desert, hiked Red Rocks Canyon and the Valley of Fire and took a side trip over to the Hoover Dam.

Conclusion: Food, the universal language

Our culinary escapade in Vegas was a testament to the joys of exploration and discovery, and the transformative powers of travel to broaden horizons. In a world that often feels divided, the simple act of breaking bread or pizza with stranger reminded us that there is a universal language of good food and shared experiences.

So, to all of you out there, I invite you to embrace the spirit of adventure, step out of your comfort zone, explore new places, new ideas, travel more and worry less. Who knows what delicious surprises and unforgettable experiences await you on your own journey?

Let's eat, explore, and savor moments together.
